The unfair financial impact on a typical New Zealand farmer of a totally unnecessary and unjustfied emissions trading scheme are described in stark terms by a Gisborne farming couple, Neil and Esther Henderson, in the pdf document attached. Current New Zealand government policy, "all gases, all sectors" will impose higher costs for fuels and electricity on everyone, farmers included, from 1 July this year onward, with animal emissions to cut in from 2015. Mr and Mrs Henderson make a convincing case why, in view of the uncertainties in the science, and the inaction of other competitor countries, New Zealand should defer introduction of its ETS legislation.
